It came to my attention that the ROM (VOR) and KC80 airports have very little data on the Los Angeles sectional chart. The aviation data exist on the San Francisco sectional, but the way SkyCharts ‘stitch’ the charts, LA now wins.
I then tried the opposite, and ROM looks better, but then Porterville loose information.
Please comment on which way you prefer.
Of course, the best solution would be for FAA to add the data on the LA chart as well, please email them at 9-AMC-Aerochart@faa.gov
This is what the charts look like now:
And this is what having San Francisco ‘win’ looks like:
I would prefer the FAA correction… but second I think is better one mistake rather than two… So Porterville bye bye…
Ciao

what happens to the East of that? and can you lower the LA a bit so Porterville can be read?
I would prefer not doing anything extra ordinary with the charts than cutting out the border and ordering which chart goes on top of the other, but that said until FAA fixes the problem I can look into a temporary fix.
Looks fine with LA “winning”.
Thanks.
However, that’s what’s in place right now, and where ROM and KC80 have issues.
Although having SF win cuts some info for KPTV I think that’s better.
And of course, you can always just double tap to bring up the A/FD and find out the frequencies that way.
