Next update is Oct 15
v3.8 of the app has also been made obsolete.
Please just update the app to stay current.
Now with WORLD airport database!
Please download on App Store
More information here
UPDATE: Turns out iOS never asks about ‘Location Service’ for the app. You need to enable that for yourself in order for the app to work using GPS data.
In order to enable ‘Location Service’,
please tap on Settings->Privacy:
Then tap on ‘Location Services':
To change, tap on ‘Checklist’ then change to ‘While Using the App':
I’ll submit a new version to App Store as soon as this is fixed, but it will take a least a week before any updates show up.
Next update is Sept 17.
Next update is Aug 20.
Now with world icons to make it easier to download.
The NRST airport also works in the entire world.
Please update.
Enjoy!
Next update is July 23.
Now with international regions!
Select Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Oceania and South America.
This will help to reduce the download size.
If you previously used Pacific for world charts, please unselect it.
Since SkyCharts originally was written for USA the color coding for cloud coverage and flight conditions have only been tested with US METARS.
However, since international METARs can include CAVOK and 9999 the weather has been color coded incorrectly.
This will be fixed in v3.9 of the application, but since its not released yet when either of those words are included a fake entry of ‘6SM SCT050′ are included at the end.
Now with world ONC coverage!
And new look – for missing coverage Stamen watercolor is used!
You also get world-wide METAR&TAF.
For this cycle, if you want to download the world maps, please select the Pacific region.
This will change once a new version of the app has been released, but for now if you want the data you’re looking at a hefty 3.2GB download.
If you double tap on the map, if not in USA you get some basic information about that airport.
Enjoy!
Feedback is welcome.
