Now with track up/north. When in track north the airplane changes direction instead of rotating the entire chart.
Nov 20 charts now available
Please update to v1.5.2 to get the new charts.
Older versions of SkyCharts will NOT get any chart updates.
Nov 20 charts are being processed
I’ll let these go as soon as they are ready since I fixed a couple of items in the recent ICAO/FAA change.
FAA website is down
Unfortunately this is where all PDF’s reside for A/FD and TPPs.
I’m adding the charts to my website for download but that will take a while.
Update: The SkyCharts server now checks if the FAA website works or not and serves accordingly.
v1.5.1 is released
Which fixes the unfortunate caching problem in v.1.5.
All charts that already have been downloaded will work. To check, just set AIRPLANE mode ON. You should not get any ‘internet error’ messages.
Caching is INOP in v1.5
Unfortunately I didn’t catch this until app was already approved. More details here.
This is fixed in v1.5.1 which is already in the approval process, but you never really know how long Apple take to approve changes.
SkyCharts crashes after chart update
From yesterday until this morning, if you updated the charts the app will crash after selecting charts to cache. The workaround is simple, just delete and reinstall it please. iTunes will NOT charge you again.
More details here.
Oct 22 charts are ready
Client will ask to update as usual a day or so before charts expire.
1.5 submitted to AppStore
Changes here.
And removed it Oct 6. The new METAR/TAF can block map updates when out of connectivity.
I’ll go ahead and submit a 1.4.5 with the map bugfixes in 1.5 so those will be available at least sooner while I work on a new release of 1.5.
September 24 charts
Are now being processed. A day or so before the old charts go invalid you will be asked to update your charts.
FYI: 1.4.3.6 will NOT get any new charts, only 1.4.4 will have updates.
Please update to 1.4.4!
